Update layout?
Is there a tool or short cut to update a layout page?
Now I have to close out an elevation to get the box asking to do it.
If not,I will post a suggestion to have this..........

Allen, I don't understand your question? You've always had to close an elevation to have it update the layout if it's linked to the layout. You are implying you didn't have to do that before. The only thing that should update automatically are plan views, and actually that varies between 10 and X1.
Have I been missing something all these years?Last edited by Tommy Blair; 07-27-2008 at 07:58 AM.

Hi Tommy
When I close out an elevation,a box pops up asking if I want to update the layout.
I was doing a quick layout for presentation this morning, not for permit.
When I noticed things that needed fixing and went back to the elevation view and changed them,it would be nice to have a click, update layout.
I was hoping I was missing it...........

Allen:
I agree, I have the same issue with pics that I place in the layout.
I try to use standard names so I can keep the layouts simple, such as "Proposed front view". If I later change this .jpg I would like the layout to auto-magically pic up the replacement .jpg.
Currently, I have to delete the pic in the layout and then re-import the new pic and this means re-sizing it all over again, etc.

I'll register my desire for this as well, sure all chief users would appreciate their elevations automatically updating.
That is one point where other software outdoes CA.
Cheers
