Library causing freeze?
I've attached a file that i'm currently working on...
Everything has been fine on this drawing until just now, i try to open the material browser and chief freezes...i've tried going in a number of ways:
-double clicking the roof tool to change my roof surface
-going in through default settings to change roof material
-opening each roofplane individually to change materials
it freezes everytime i try to open the materials browser...
If anyone can verify that this is or is not happening, i can determine if it is the file itself, or CA, or my computer. I will then contact Tech Support for assistance...
ThanksMatthew

Matthew,
I have seen this. I had the program freeze when applying moldings. I contacted tech support and they had no idea and then it magically corrected itself.

Matthew,
Do you by chance have dual monitors? If so, it's an easy fix. I will be out tomorrow so any tech can help, give us a call.Last edited by Debbie M; 06-18-2008 at 04:00 PM.

Debbie,
The tech guy I was talking to did not even ask the question. So maybe he does not know the fix you are referring to.
...and I have had the library freeze with dual monitors and not dual monitors.Last edited by louis; 06-19-2008 at 05:28 AM.

Just be sure with dual monitors, if you pull the library browser off onto the second monitor to give yourself more editing area that you pull it back over onto the first monitor before you close Chief. If not, you will "break" the reference to the library browser. Once this happens we will have to go in and delete a registry entry to make it come back. I suspect 11.5.4 refreshed the registry for you causing it to work again.

Hey Loius,
Pop over to the Support Center and open a ticket to me (put my attention on it). If you can get the library to error, grab a screen shot. List your computer specs for me too, what you were doing, CA version, etc. I will see if I can recreate.
Thanks

Deb,
It does not produce an error, it just freezes.
I have to shut down Chief and I loose any work that has not been saved.
