3rd Party Renderers
Interested in adding a more sophisticated rendering capability to Chief 8. Looking for a renderer that has radiosity rendering for a photorealistic appearance.
Does AccuRender (by Autodesk) work with Chief 8?
How about Art-lantis 4.0?
Thanks.....Mel

There are many rendering programs out there.

This Chieftalk thread is an extensive discussion related to the use of POV-Ray.

ART-lantis works really well with Chief, but doesn't have radiosity. Of course, it's much faster as a result. But I think the ray-tracing it does is very good.

AccuRender works VERY well. I've attached a raytraced radiosity image from AccuRender for the house my wife and I plan on building next year. It is not just a push button experiance though. You have to be knowledgable in AutoCAD so you can clean up a few things. For example, walls do not render that well because Chief creates them as numerous seperate faces. I have to change them (in AutoCAD) into a single Region, and then they render MUCH better. If you are comfortable in AutoCAD then I would highly recommend AccuRender.
Hope this helps!
