Wrap around deck
I am drawing a house, that has a deck that wraps all the way around all 4 sides of the house...
This really screws up the plan...at first, the whole plan was being identified as a "deck", then i added a famous invisible wall to one side and that solved that problem...
But now when i auto-dim...all my dimensions go away, becuase the deck is seperating the house from the outside world...
-all my deck railing walls are set to "no locate"...
-the deck floor height is set to a different height as the first floor
How can i get my dimensions to come back? i've attached the file (the drawing is unfinished at this point)Matthew

Temporarily set one of those deck walls as "No Room Def", do your auto exterior dims, then set it back.

Matthew if you open up your railing a small distance then generate your auto dimensioning you will get your dimensions back. Then close the railing back up. Cheers Gary.

Matthew:
You may want to post this as a situation to be fixed in the suggestion area of the forum.

Have you specified the deck as Decks in the Room Specification dialog. I believe Auto diminsions will ignore the deck and just measure the rest of the house.

the same problem occurs when you have a porch on the front of a house. you have to manual dimension all walls, windows and door. very irritating!
