Stone stairs and railing
I'm trying to draw a curved stairway with 6 "stair landings" that are odd shaped to complete my stairs. Everything looks pretty good except i need to show the stairs and railing as solid stone from floor to top of rail. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks in advance for any help.

What if you just change the material of the stairs to the stone that you want.

that changed the material of everything, but still have balusters and nothing from bottom of stairs to floor. I need to show a solid wall from the floor to the top of the rail

i unchecked open underneath and that got it to the floor,....now i just need the rail for the stairs, then something for my "stair landings" (last 6 steps)

Hi Ben
What is your ceiling height and stair specs you want?
Did you watch Louis's winder tutorial?.........

no, maybe i should watch it. The curved stairs go to my first landing at 103", then i just used landings to finish it out. Everything works OK, except not being able to show the railing as solid stone

Now for the wall. I tried a quick one by drawing a curved wall (stay away from that first tread) then sliding it under the stairs to clip it. Then I put the wall on its own layer and switched to the all off set (leaving the new layer on). "Convert to symbol". Add stretch zone to bottom of symbol (xy plane @ z=0 to 1). Move in place and stretch the bottom, then lift.
Your curved wall may be a little more difficult. I'm thinking Dan's "sails" idea might work here too. http://chieftalk.com/showthread.php?...ighlight=sails
