Line defaults?

Some how i believe i have changed my line defaults or it could be something else. Usually when I have drawn two lines that attach at their endpoints they normaly snapped together to become a polyline. Now they are all seperate lines and I can not get them to become one line. This happens with arcs and splines as well. What do I have to change so when i draw two lines together they make a polyline again. Im trying to master walkthroughs a long a path only problem is i need a continuous polyline for this to work.
