    Room Specification...

Here is something new for me since going to X1.4...

Occasionally, on different plans, i cant double click in my rooms to open the room specification dbx. Why is this?

    Anybody else getting this?

I have to save, close CA and open it back up before it will work again...

Ahh...you gotta love this s**t, i'm soooooo productive

    Matthew,

Check your layers and make sure "Rooms" is unlocked.

Thanks Cliff, i'll look into it...but the question then would be...why would my rooms layer be locked? When it works one moment, but not the next.

Good tip though, i hadnt thought of that...I'll check it the next time it locks up...

    Matthew,

I remember seeing mention of this somewhere. I think it's actually a buggette. Try hitting F12 for rebuild.

I wrote code in 1984 to make my Sinclair 100 - so I used to be a programmer! So I can say with authority how easy it is to program Chief features! ;-)

    Matthew,

This same thing has happened to me...and the only remedy that I could see was what you had mentioned. Also the same time, I couldn't double click the roof planes....or anything for that matter.

Suddenly X1.4 isn't as great as I thought it would be.........

    yes, i agree

I thought it was CA's job to fix bugs, not create new ones in new places...

    Matthew:

It may be a bug that's new to 1.4 update.

My point is that with complex programs like Chief, it will never be bug free and while fixing some bugs others may be created.

It does seem like the number of bugs was a little high between .3 and .4...maybe it's those interns....

There was a problem that was introduced in the X1.4 update that was then fixed in the X1.4.1 update. These things happen even though we work very hard to try and prevent them. We fixed hundreds of bugs and added a number of new features, more then we have done in previous versions.

If you don't have the latest update, you should get it and install it. If you are not sure what version you are using, just open up the About dialog box and check it there.

If you are sure you have the X1.4.1 update and are still having a problem opening your room specification dialog, then please report this to tech support.
