5.3 Meg file (slow to vector view)

I pulled the ram stick out. It says 1GB 128Mx64 DIMM PC 2100-DDR SDRAM. It's Old. There is one vacant pci slot. Do I need to buy ram the same as the existing one? thanks. Also do you think this will improve 3-d view speed and zooming in and out etc? 1.slightly 2. moderately 3.substantially 4.hardly at all.? Thanks as always. Bob L.
