Change layout size?
Is there any way to change the layout size? I cannot get my floor plan on the default layout and my client is insistent on 1/4" scale. I have searched the forum and I'm not sure if I just didn't word it properly, or if I just missed the answer. Thanks.

With a new layout open, try going to FILE>PRINT>PAGE SETUP. Change properties there.

After you finish what Tommy said make yourself a layout template for each size/orientation you may need. Then you just select the appropriate template, never having to touch page setup again.

I tried that and it didn't seem to help. I even went up to 36x48. Could I be doing something else wrong?

Whitney, can you list the steps you are taking to get the plan to the layout page?

File, Send to layout, 1/4"=1'. That's it. It gives me a message saying: "The output from this window will overlap the edges of the layout page. Would you like to send this view anyway?" I say ok and when it shows up on the layout it is much too large.

Can you post a screenshot of your "send to layout" dialog box?
and also your Layout "page setup" dialog box?
I'm sure your issue is in one of those places.Allen Brown

How do I do that? I know how to capture the plans, but not the dialog boxes. I am still kinda new at this.

while the dialog box is open, hit the "print screen" button near the top right of your keyboard. open any photo editing program, click new, right click on the new file, and click paste. Save as a jpeg, then post as an attachment to this post. Or, just zip your plan file and layout file and attach here, and we'll take a look.

I don't see any way that building's going to fit on Arch 'D' paper. Might even be tight on 36 x 48

It looks to me like it is around 164' or so. If that is the case it is impossible to make that fit on a 24 x 36 at 1/4" scale without breaking up the plan into separate parts.

I can fit up to about 130' wide on my 24 X 36 layout, which is why I asked.
Can you post a screen capture of your layout sheet after the plan is sent?Allen Brown
