File corruption when sending to layout
When I need to send an elevation to layout, or even to a CAD Detail, I have been experiencing some file corruption. Please review the attached images. It seems as though some end views of gables show through rooflines, and shingles are getting messed up as well.
Do I have a layer turned on that may be causing this?
Any help would be appreciated.

Try turning off framing in the elevation view.

Looks like we found a way around the problem, although I would still like to know what caused the extra members to show up.
I had started this project in Ver. 10, and then when I modified the old job file in X1 I didn't delete the old camera views. When I was trying to send those old camera views, I was getting the visual grief on the elevations.
I deleted all of the old camera views, made new ones, and they send to layout with the same accuracy that I expected from Ver. 10.
Thanks for your replies._____________________

Hello Ray,
Thanks for your workaround. I tried it and it worked once on the new camera view but the same problem occured when I used that new camera again.
Does this happen with youLarry West

There were several send to layout issues in X1 and some issues with translating certain cases with old plans. The issues that we know of with sending views to layout have been fixed. However, there are a few cases that we cannot fix without sending an entirely new view to layout. Updating the elevation view may or may not work.
So if you find an issue with bleed through, or offset problems you may need to resend a new view to layout. Several of these fixes were done in X1.4 so you should be using that version or newer.
There are still a few cases where you may get bleed through. These usually are in perspective vector views that are done from fairly far away. You can correct this case by increasing the distance to the front clipping plane of the camera.Doug Park

Well I am glad to know that it is not just my plans that are doing this but sad to here it is happening to others.
I get around this by sending new views to cad then to layout, its not a real big deal but a little aggravating.
This does happen in V. 10 files that I bring into X1. I can send a file into Tech Support if you need.

Thanks to all who replied!
The bleed through is occuring with a plan that I brought forward from version 10.8 - I will never bring another plan forward from 10.8
I hope that you, Dan, will continue to try to fix this problem other wise we are stuck. How about plans brought forward from other versions?Larry West

Just chiming in on this problem. I had responded/created a thread to this issue last week. While trying to find the thread I came across this one and the title sounded like the issue.
Reading into it a bit I see it is in FACT the same issue.
Can I just vent slightly and let you know that some of us using Chief will pul up plans from as much as a year and a half prior and simply want to send out a new copy of the layout?
How's this working for you? It's not working well for me at all.
I've attached 3 images. The first two from the PLAN. The first from the PLAN was simply opening the existing Cross Section. The second PLAN image is clicking in once on the Mouse Wheel changing the Zoom level of the view ever so slightly. The mysterious bleeding lines disappear.
The last image is from the LAYOUT where the PLAN elevation was sent. And look at all that CRAP in the image.
The only positive I see this morning is another user's comments on DELETING the elevation views and CREATING new ones and HOPING the new one doesn't recreate this erroneous image.
This piece of software is rapidly becoming a joke.
Sorry, but that's my initial thought on X1, X1.3, and now X1.4.
Did I misread it or did Mr Park state we'll be waiting for the next REVISION before this issue is FIXED?
Unfortunately I and I believe the majority of the REST of us in the REAL WORLD have to be responsible to the CUSTOMER. My customers aren't going to wait.
So the seven drawings I HAVE to get out the door today will each take this RIDICULOUS try and hope and try again technique in order to have a product that can be sent out that doesn't I repeat DOESN't reflect the quality of this software. No. I'll have to find a way to edit the CRAp out of this to get it to a level of quality my customers will accept.
Enjoy your day.Alan Michaud
