Layers

I am trying to do floor joists and I want to put them on their own layer so that nothing else will show except joists and dimensions. I have figured out how to just show the joists but how do I create dimensions on this layer without having the dimesnions from other layers appear. Even if I try to create them on a separate all of the dimensions appear. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help!!

There has been a lot of talk about this problem in the past. The solution is to move all manual dimensions to new layers so that the "manual dimension" layer can be permanently left on. You can then switch the new layers on/off as required.

I am sure this is not what ART intended and will be fixed soon (HINT HINT)
