How to get Interior Door and Window Holes to Combine?

Hey all,
I want to combine an interior door and window hole without space between them.

Essentially I'm creating a door with a kitchen bar and there will be no post between the bar and door. I can move a window and door opening very close to one another, but can't get rid of the 2 inches between them.

Is there another way to get this opening?

One way to do it is to just have the door/doorway be the full width of the opening and then create the bar out of polyline solids and/or custom countertops to fill in for the bar.

Barry,
Double click the window toolbar button to open up the window DBX. Set the minimum separation to 0. This should enable you to get rid to the separation.

After you set the Minimum Separation to 0 there are also a few parameters you will need to set for the door and the window to get rid of the separator. Here are the settings to make:

Door Settings:
- General Tab – Door Type = Doorway
- Frame & Trim Tab = Check Suppress Casing
Window Settings:
- General Tab – Set the size of the window you desire
- Sash & Frame Tab – Sash Width = 0 and Frame Width = 0
- Casing Tab – Check Suppress Casing

Drag the window and doorway together then select both of them and click the Make Block button on your tool bar. This will mull them together and get rid of the separation.

Hey Bob,
One additional thing I found is that beyond all those settings, I needed to choose "ignore casing" to get them close enough even after framing and casing is zeroed out. Thanks very much for your help.
