Show / Hide House in 3D and butted glass window

Hi there
I am new to the forum, I have been using CA for a few months now.
I want to show a duplex-house in 3D in one picture, but then also have two separate shots with one house only.
Is there any possibility to show / hide one house to take a 3D shot with only one house on it ? And then do the same with the other house ?

secon question: how do I draw a butted window, frameless glass over a corner ? the link that is mentioned somewhere in the forum doesn't work anymore.

Thank you for your help
Nicole

Hi Nicol
You could crop out the other house.
Or delete the part you do not want, save the plan under a new name.
I do not know about the window..
Just looked at X1 about that and now this post has the font from X1.

Welcome to the forum..

Unfortunately, Chief doesn't have the ability to make a room or a house totally invisible. We are hoping someday to have total layer control as this would be nice for remodels to distinquish existing from new and for showing alternative versions.

Michael:

How would that help hide an entire section of a duplex ?

You could make 2 copies of your plan, delete one house in each plan then make symbols of each house and place them on separate layers. Place the symbols in a new plan and use that plan for your 3D shots. Then you could control which house shows by turning the layers on/off. Hope this helps.

Sorry I can’t help you on the corner window other than try some more searches. I recall pervious posts on this but if the link is broken … bummer.

Nicole, in the picture below I placed two fixed windows in the joining walls, then "control dragged" them together. Next I had to eliminate the glass (window DBX>sash & frame>side sash = 0), next, I used the delete surface tool to eliminate some boards that were still in the center, I then used polyline solids to create new glass.
