    adjusting fence thickness

I was able to adjust the thickness of the railing (standard is 3 1/2" I think), but when I changed it to a fence so it would follow the terrain, I was not able to change the thickness. I would like for it to stay at 3 1/2", but it changed to about 1" thick. This doesn't look nice for a 36" high stucco wall. It needs to be thick. Does anyone know how to adjust the thickness of a fence?

    ChiefGirl,
Just a guess but maybe setting the width of the newel to 3 ½ will help.

Thanks for replying. I actually tried that & it only made the newels thicker. I was needing for the whole railing/fence to be that thick. Good thought though.

    ChiefGirl,
Here are the settings I used for the solid fence below. Hope this is closer to what you are looking for.

the default fencing width is controlled by the 'alter default wall' icon the one with the 2", 4", 6", 8" or 10" on it...it is a child icon of the wall tools parent (the actual widths for these defaults is in the wall defaults dbx...dbl cick the wall tool to open it annd set the nominal widths for the 5 widths)...if your fence is already placed select the fence and open its dbx>general tab...there is a setting right at the top there for the thickness of the fence
