Markers not showing up in layout

I am working on a cross section view for layout, however I noticed that markers are not showing up as the elevation is updating in layout.. The text layers are turned on. Does anyone have any thoughts about why this would be happening?

Neal thanks, markers are on text layer-on and the dimensions are on dimensions layer-on. All on a cross section view camera.

Is your layout view actually referencing that elevation?

Yes Louis, the dimensions and markers were done at the same time, same view. After I finished drawing them I switched to layout view just to see if it looked Ok, that's when I noticed they were missing.

I bet that elevation is in a layout set.

Did you click in the layout to get back to the plan?

Louis I just went back and reopened the plan and layout after I sent to you. When I opened up the cross section view (which was missing the markers now, I selected the markers tool to replace and as soon as I clicked on the window the markers all reappeared. I them went to layout and this time the markers were there. I would like to understand this!

    Hi Kevin
I think they were turned off in layers like the others said..
Same as if you turn off framing and click the framing tool..
Might be a good thing to remember when some thing is not showing..
Click on one to open it and see what layer they are on..

How many layout sets do you have in your layer set listing box?

Allen Hi, you may be right, but that is a mistake I have made so many times that it is the first thing I usually look for (first instinct if something isn't showing). I don't know exactly how to describe this but I'll try; sometimes when I'm using Chief and I click on something, I am not always sure Chief got the signal. Almost like when you are trying to push commands to a computer faster than computer is willing to take it! That may not have anything to do with it, but I just went in to layout, double clicked on the elevation, which brought up the camera view, selected the markers tool, clicked on the drawing window and they all appeared. Went back to layout and magically they were there.

    Thanks Kevin
