Joining The Atlanta User Group

I thought I'd set a time and place and get folks to respond as to whether or not they could attend.

Proposed dates: August 21st. August 23rd
Time: 7 pm
Place: Starbucks - 14th Street in Midtown - 2 blocks off 75/85, 14th St. exit.

Let me know if anyone is interested in attending. Respond as to whether or not this central location is appropriate or not.

I might be able to make the 21st. I live in Newnan so the further south the better. Maybe somewhere closer to the airport if that would be more central to anyone who could come. I can try and find a location for us to meet. Possibly the Irsh Bred pub which has just opened up on Virgina Avenue. But i would be interested in meeting.

As it stands right now, the 21st at 7pm at the Starbucks at 21 14th Street in Midtown will be our attempt at a first Chief Users Group. I think Midtown works because we have folks from Newnan and Athens. Midtown is just in the middle.
Let me know if folks think some other place is better.
If we get enough people, I'll arrange a bigger place for us to meet.

We've set our first Chief Architect User's Group meeting. August 21, 7 pm.
Midtown Starbucks, 21 14th Street, a couple of blocks east of 75/85, 10th Street/14th Street exit. The Starbucks is next door to a Marriott and 2 doors down from the Four Seasons hotel.
As a tease, I've heard from someone who is coming who is looking for Chief User's for work.
My experience in the Austin User's Group, of which I was a part, was that I often got some nice jobs from being a member of the group. One of the largest jobs I was a part of came because I attended the User's Group.

Just a note to let everyone know that Atlanta's first User Group meeting was held last night, and it was not only informative, but lots of fun.
There were sneak peaks at new software that will help us all and lots of information that we all found useful in forwarding our business.
If you missed it, make sure you come next month.
We have initially established the 3rd Tuesday of every month for User Group meeting. This certainly can be changed if we have enough participants who want it come other time or day.
The September meeting will be Sept. 18, 2007 at the Starbucks at 21 14th Street, Midtown, Atlanta.
There will be a short demonstration or presentation at each meeting. The presentation for Sept. will be a demonstration and discussion of Chief X1 - What's new in the latest version including tips and techniques

Hey all, I live in Roswell GA,and would love to talk eye to eye about Chief. I'm a slow learner and would love some input. I.E. I can't make mutli level decks! I get the decks on the same plane no matter where I put the down stairs. .Help

Just a reminder that the next User Group Meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7 pm at the Starbucks on 14th Street in Midtown. The address is 21 14th Street. It is next to the Marriott Suites. It's about 3 blocks east of 75/85, and I believe the exit is 10th/14th Street.

I've had quite a few more people say they're coming, and the program will be a review of the new features of X1, plus folks who bring issues that they want to share or need help with.

Thanks to all who came to our second Users Group meeting last night, Tuesday, Sept. 18.
We had new people - discussed a myriad of issues, talked about our practices, saw a few projects, and talked about the new features of Chief X1.

I can say it's well worth attending.
Put the next meetings on your calendar:

October 16, 7 pm, Tuesday, the Midtown Starbucks at 21 14th Street - 3 blocks east of 75/85, exit 10th Street/14th Street, next to the Marriott Suites.

November Meeting - November 20, 7 pm, Tuesday, Same place unless we outgrow the Starbucks (which looks like it may happen.)

December Meeting - December 18, 7 pm.

Meetings will always be the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Our next Atlanta User's Group meeting has changed to better accommodate the group.

We are moving across I-75/85 to Energy Coffee at 365 14th Street NW. We were meeting at the Starbucks on the other side, also on 14th St.

Energy Coffee has a reserved meeting space, and I have reserved it for Tuesday, Oct. 16th at 7 PM. Same day, same time, different coffee house.
Energy Coffee is a local business, and I like supporting local businesses, and they have a "meeting" space which will work much better for our group. At our last meeting we were all crowded around a little table, and it was not working.
Call if anyone needs better directions or has questions.

Bring your issues, plans that don't work, etc. We have folks who can help.
