    Hi Doug
Try glass house view, delete surfaces and the rainbow tool to see what the material is..
If it needs a quick fix, paint it "Open,no material"but that is not a good thing to do for a permanent fix..

I also had a similar problem and in my case I deleted an attic wall (go one level up) - end of "gable wings"

Thanks everyone, Hey Allen, Hows everything? Sooooo....Cristian gets the winning prize. What it was , was a second or should I say a 1st gable(attic wall) Originally the ceiling height was 8'. with that wall being checked as a gable wall. Then I raised the ceiling to 9' and CA created ANOTHER gable (attic) wall. The attic wall that was creating the protrusion was the one from when the ceiling height was at 8'. when I moved it up and hit F12 for rebuild, CA left the original attic wall in place. I deleted the longer of the 2 and all is great.

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
