Molding joined at the corners

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a library molding all around the house. at each corner they do not connect, is there a way to join them together and connect them around the corner?

What are your method in creating those?

do you mean how do I create them? They are moldings from the library and I just place them individually near the roof with the right height. I just pull and drag the moldings on floorplan view to get the right size. is there a way to connect them and smooth out the corners?

Are you using a continuous polyline at the corner or 2 individual ones?

two individual. all around the house on each wall is an individual molding.

make it one as it goes around the corner. That should work.

You can select the room a and make a room molding polyline with a click or two. It would match the inside perimeter of the room.

You can also select the room and go to the moldings tabs to do something similar. I think you might be taking the long road to where you are going.

(stop thinking like a trim carpenter - you did it the way that they would do it ... Did you cope or miter the inside corners? Just kidding ...)

You don't have to place them manually as there ways to make them properly and automatically.

In the room specs dbx, locate "moldings", you will find the crown molding, chair rail and base molding there.

As to your second molding (the one running across the door) ;

Click room> make room molding polyline icon (this is located at the bottom left corner of your screen) >set height > double click polyline> add new >ok

I hope this will do it.

Click OUTSIDE but near the exterior wall (any wall), that shoud select the "Outside room" i.e. whole house will be shaded, then click down the edit bar on made room molding polyline. adjust the hight then go to the other Tabs in the DBX to set you molding profile.
the key point here is to select the whole house by clicing outside the building parameter.
You can repeat this process and add the molding at the door level, then using the edit tools in Plan view, you can break the molding around the doors or windows.

I figured it out. For the molding on the middle of the wall it works as ash has explained. but for roof such as a gable roof you have to do the molding on the roof default box. then go to each corner and break and extend to the other side of the wall. and that should do it.

Having your CAD snaps on when drawing line segments will help in keeping them all connected so your corners will miter properly.
