V9.5 Crash
I'm befuddled. Using V9.5, my plans are almost completed and I was revising layout views of wall sectionals. Specifically, I was changing the 'Fill' from 'None' to 'Solid' with 'White' color so the framing would show clearly.
The way I did this was to double-click on the section in the Layout bringing up the section in the Plan. Then I put a marque around it and made it a block. From there I opened the Object Specification and made the changes. I'd already done about 25 wall of the sections successfully (and saved the results fortunately) when Chief began crashing as soon as I would click OK on the Block specification. I checked my computer for viruses etc with negative results and ran Norton Windoctor. Nothing helped.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I can send the crash info if anybody knows how to decipher it.

I've now narrowed the issue to one wall out of about 30 walls. I've looked at it from various views and see nothing wrong.Last edited by gcheris; 02-26-2007 at 01:24 AM.

Could be related, but there is a known crash that comes about when double clicking from layout to a plan cad detail view, then closing. If it is related, enter the cad detail view from the plan file, instead of double clicking from the layout.

Thanks Ben. What I failed to point out is that I did about 10 more walls successfully after I ran into the problem, so if it is a bug then it is quite selective (lol). It seems that there is just this one wall that has this issue. I looked at it from different views and don't see a problem. But, everytime I exit the object detail, after making the changes, it crashes. I've also approached it from the plan side and get the same response.
Thanks again,
Gary

Perhaps it is a small wall segment...just guessing...to check, pull the wall back, or delete it, and see if you see a ever so small item that looks like a line or small box, any where along where the wall was. If so, use edit area to select and delete it....if not, then not sure.
