If you were putting this porch on one of your drawings, is the best method to make the walls invisible and add a column from the mill work library?

Also, how can I make the arch at the top of it?

Just passing through in a hurry, but probably a arched wrapped opening set in a solid porch wall of your choice to get arch then place a column out of library placed in wall corner (hold down Ctrl while forcing into wall) adjust opening width to get look desired.

Yes, the image below shows a recent remodel (partial) adding a front porch to a home. I could have used invisible walls but in this case I used no walls at all, columns, poly-line cad boxes, manual roof for the porch, the porch ceiling is an object from good ole chiefsymbols.com library CCO1 as well as the frieze boards and keystones.

What font do you use on your drawings? I saw the porch and elevation drawings. It looks like one of the many I found free on the internet. However, when I try using a font like this one or 'technical', it prints very light. Do you have that problem?

Trying to find a font that will print dark while being able to use slightly smaller text size on parts of my drawings. It seems I have to either enlarge too much or use 'bold' with this type of font. Which in turn leads to characters bleeding together and making difficult to determine a 6 from an 8 and things like that.

The font is called "Blueprint.ttf"(set to size "10 and "regular" darkness, I believe it came with DBTecs' "Detailer" CD several years ago. Many Chief Users use it. A couple of my clients specify it as you see. I think it is posted for download at Chief-Users File section in a folder called "Fonts".

I have the CC01 files from Chiefsymbols and could not find the symbol which I think you mentioned in your last post for the half-barrel roof under the porch.

Could you please tell me where to find it.

Is it possible to flatten the ellipse of a wrapped doorway that I got from the (Library, Doorways, Wrapped openings)? If it is possible, how do I do that?

It is probably easier to use a standard doorway.
Open it's dbx and go to the Arch tab, give it an eliptical arch and customise the shape as you want.

I have the "blueprintdbt" font from TEC detailer. Isn't it also in 7?
Were the window and door size designations on the elevation automatic or manual? If automatic, how is it done?

I misspoke myself earlier about the "Font" used in the examples above, it is "Blueprint" right enough but not "Blueprintdbt" as reported before. I downloaded it from the "Font" folder in the "Files" section of Chief-Users@yahoo-groups.com.
