Got it! You guys gave me the clues necessary. It was a second wall issue. The second story wall was creating a full gable (even though I did not have the checked!). When I pulled the gable portion down in elevation it uncovered the window. However, when I rebuilt walls, ceilings, etc., then the wall collapsed down to the lower roof line that butts to it. So I deleted the roof surface, grabbed the wall and pulled it back up to its normal height.
I'm still not sure how I got into this mess...
