Question HELP with 9.5 "Room Specification Tab"

Hello,,, I'm new here and have had Cheif 6.0,7.0,8.0,9.0 and my current version is 9.54.....

My problem is: I have a home drawn and in the "Room Specification Tab" ,,,, two of the rooms I can get rid of the "Stem wall" nor can I select "Slab foundation for this room" for two of the rooms!!!!

I've tried changing the room names, removing the rooms completly then rebuilding it, also opeing up the wall so that the room becomes one with another room that the "Room Specification Tab" works correctly..........

Any ideas short of drawing the whole plan over again???????

Thanks in advance!

I want to get rid of everything below the "Slab foundation".. All the other rooms will allow me to set the floor and foundation as a "Slab".... except these too rooms.........

I keep trying to change it everyway I know how,,, and it STILL won't let me alter it.........

I build almost every home on a "Slab foundation",,, I sure would like to just be able to set a Default for a slab and go about my bussiness......

Please Help!!!

Are you trying to do a monolithic slab foundation?

Why don't you just build a monolithic slab and name the rooms with room names?

Yes Lewis I am......... I can't get these two rooms (living and Kitchen) to lose their Floors.. No matter what I do (I've changed the room names, I've opened the walls up to another room that has a monolthic slab foundation, I've tried to change prev's...)

Here's what it looks like (on the General Tab):

Floor height (A) -12
Ceiling Height (B) 120
Lowered Ceiling (c) 120 (D)
Stem Wall height (D) 156

On the Structure Tab:
It won't let me check or Un-check the "Slab foundation for this room" box.... It's grey and Not checked!!!!! But only in these two rooms!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your Help!

PS> I beleive I've met you a couple of times at TAB meetings in Austin (I'm a past President of TABA in Tyler (2002), and Have been on the Remodelers council since 1998).......

Thanks again!

Mike,

On thing you need to know is that you don't need to name the rooms slab in order to have a monolithic slab.

Are you using stem walls as your beam?

OK,,, What should I do???

Now that I figured out what caused the Stem wall problem,, How do I make a 1/2 wall with a beam above (like I was using the Handrail with beam above)?? I don't think I want to use a window as the opening.........It dosen't look right...

Thanks again!

Why do you even have stem walls as part of this plan?

Are you trying to do a half wall with a dropped beam above between two rooms?

Then delete the foundation and re-build it checking monolithic slab.

Yes you can use a railing wall.

Is the wall you want solid or with balusters?
