Best Modeling Practices
From reading this forum I am encouraged to upgrade my CA modeling skills and build framing even though my construction documents do not show any framing views. It seems that with properly built framing it will be possible to create section views that require less manual 2D cad time.
A few items for discussion are as follows:
1. What is the most efficient method of building foundations so that the brick above in a brick veneer stud wall aligns with the foundation face below and allows CA to correctly create mudsills (sill plates)?
2. Can the ‘autodetail’ feature create:
- a cad box showing the concrete for the basement slab?
- a cad box for the fascia and soffit?
- a cad box for the sub floor ?
- brick hatching which stops the u/s of the soffit?
3. Is there a best method of aligning ‘ponywalls’ having a lower brick veneer component with face of foundation below, (I know there are previous threads on this)?
I have attached a basic cross section to illustrate some of the above questions.
I look forward to your posts, Bruce
