    Wall Shows In Ceiling

I have a 2nd floor wall that crosses the nook area in the plan I am working on. In render view there is a hole in the ceiling material where the 2nd floor wall crosses. How can I get rid of this hole?

Can you post plan views of both floors?

That looks like a lowered ceiling in the small room. What did you do the the wall that separates them? If it is a lowered ceiling in the small room, I would break the wall and make the short wall a solid railing wall. It will then look fine in a vector camera or render. Oh yea, make that railing wall invisible.

Tommy: On the main floor where the render view is taken on the nook, kitchen and great room are all the same room definition with the same properties. The difference is that the nook is not reproduced on the 2nd floor, hence the showing of the opening in the ceiling on the main floor below where the 2nd floor wall crosses above.

Wendy: I was going to post the floor plan for that part of the home (with 2nd floor ref. toggled on) and had completed the download but then somehow the thread dbx disappeared and since the floor plan download took a bit more time than the render, I decided to not show it my second try. I will go get it and send it in a little bit.

Tommy: Your suggestion worked .... I think I will redefine the railing wall so I can give it totally invisible lines in plan. Thanks. The fix and the 3D outside view shows the area of the plan where the nook is. I see I have a little something showing due to the 3 : 12 roof pitch I had to use to miss the 2nd floor windows ... I kept the fascia top the the same as the rest of the house on the main floor ... not sure if that will be a problem during actual build so I will have to analyze that part of the design.

If you made the railing invisible and don't want to see it in plan, just turn off invisible walls in the layer options.

That is what I usually do but sometimes I have something I want totally hidden. Thanks again ... I had thought about the railing walls but I had it in my mind that I shouldn't need to use them ... I'll hopefully know better the next time.

I would lower the wall height and have a cathedral ceiling for that spot. You can get a better pitch and it will look better I think..
