nice render, those artifacts(molds) are barely noticeable. you may have to use high quality (slowest) radiosity setting.

This mold sometimes appears with low radiosity, you can go up a notch to medium. One question though have you tried it with no radiosity, it might be better for a relatively simple outside view.

You would need a railing on the barbeque deck stairs in most codes.

And you just wanted to get rid of mold...
Pull the shed dormer gable overhang in so it's not a flying rake ..
Sky lites kind of close to the chimney to..
Lose the flying rake on the screened porch to..What dose it look like from the front?
    Sorry....

Thanks for the input Jeff. This one is at medium; i'll try it with both high and no radiosity.

slatta-there are two "o"s in "too". We are building an addition not a chimney. Besides, what's that got to do with mold?

George-i don't know what code you live in but here in the state of North Carolina the code requires a rail on any deck above 30".

I can see that I need to go home now. When my friends on the CA forum jump all over me there is no sense in hanging around.

*edit* thanks for the input Allen. at least I know that YOU mean well.

    Jon,

Great render and I agree with Allen. I also noticed that your plants are floating a little above the ground. Are you calling some of the shadows on the house "moldy"?

    Guys -

I'm pretty sure the reduction in the image size that he posted makes most of the "mold" effect disappear with the lower resolution. Search the forum for "mold", and you'll find some better examples.

Anyway, it's either no radiosity or max if you want to get rid of the mold.

    Good luck,

    John S.

    Jon:

there is a code issue with the chimney height, I think it has to be 2' taller than the nearest roof if the roof is within 10' ? Something like that.

    Lew,

I am sure Jon's aware of that but the chimney is already there and probably to code but not important for the drawings.. Sounds like he also wants to stay on topic.. :-)
