Can someone direct me to an easy to read table that lists maximum spans for floor joists? Thanks.

    Joist Sizing

I like to use a free program from Boise Engineered Wood Products (800-405-5969) called BC CALC which evaluates the span and load parameters you enter and then gives you, usually, several different joist size options (I-Joists). They also include beam analysis as well. It is pretty easy to use and gives you reactions at the various support points and the deflection. If you are dealing with tiled floors and are specifying minimal deflections, this is vary handy. You can also print out a nice report for each member you analyze.

And if your able to aquire a copy of BC Framer....it's a cad program (free) also from Boise, in which you can import floor plans (dwg. or DXF) or draw from scratch your walls and it will frame the floors according to spans. Then you export the plan to BC CALC and it does the strutual calcs for you.
