The polyline needs to have its height raised so that it shows on the roof, Check you ridge height and make the polyline lower than that so it sits on the roof shingles.
Normally the chimney would go down thru the floors to where the fireplace or furnace is. This can be done by making a small room on each floor aligned with the other floors.

Markob, you might try reading the manual and viewing the tutorials. Just because you can buy an airplane, it doesn't mean you can fly it.

You can do a lot with polyline solids.
Hang in there. I am sure most of us had concerns about the functionallity of the porgram out of the gate. After a few days of trial and error and reading the manual and watching the tutorials it will make sense.
Don't try to take on a really big job until you get the hang of how things work. A deadline can drive you crazy if you are still learning how things work.
