    Wall Height

Couldn't find this by searching.. To create a fireplace box, I built a room, then in Elevation view, pulled down the walls... then slabs for the mantle.. Is this how it's done?

Also there MUST be another way to reduce the height of a wall.. I can't find it in any of the wall's dbx... Took 20 mins involving a few crashes in elevation windows... A simple wall height option would save me time as I know the height I wanted...

Now that I think of it, maybe a flat roof could have done this quicker??

Rashid, You can set the height for a solid railing wall, but I don't know if this would work in your situation.

    Cliff,

I'll try that in th future.... Thanks...

Cliff... Do you know of a way to save railing wall settings...? I drew the left wrought iron rail for an entry after numerous settings changes and would you believe I can't find a way to reflect copy it to the other (walls don't copy) side?? Quite painstaking to reset all the settings..

I'll reply in the Morning.. Off to bed

Size: 1,018 Bytes. It's a child button of the Wall Tools. Using the Edit Area Tools, along with Transform/Replicate, Point to Point, and Reflect About Line tools are all good to use for moving walls too. They will copy this way.

Drag a railing wall from the end of an existing one across your plan to where you want to go and then do the same to place the railing in the correct spot. The railing will retain it's properties from railing to railing.
Delete the wall you dragged accross the plan.
Easier than setting all the options from scratch.
