metric / ft plan conversion back & forth

Once again... seeking a response please?

So you find this really neat symbol of a european
faucet. The dwg file is in metric. You are an american architect and need to represent the measuremets in inches, ft etc. What do you do?

    Thanks.

Use the symbol wizard and convert the units as you import it into Chief.

    Try one

when you use the symbol wizard, when you get to the load 3d file dbx, in the 3D section, select the unit you think was used to create the drawing...(ie mm, cm, dm, etc) as you progress though the dbxs, when you get to the sizing dbx look at the sizes that are there for the width, depth and height..if they do not look reasonable(ie a faucet fixture would not be 36" wide, nor would it likely be 3/8") use the back button to go back to the 3d page and try another unit (higher or lower depending on the values shown in the sizing page)...when you get a size that is reasonable, the metric to imperial conversion has been made...finish the symbol
