Changing floor elevations to design a multilevel home

I have only been working with the basic "Home Designer" software for a few days and I could not find any references to this type of design. I have even downloaded the demo of Chief Architect to see if it contained something in the tutorial but, so far, I haven't pinpointed what I am looking for.
I need to be able to set landings at different heights than the main or basement floors and to set a side addition with offset floor and ceiling heights which will also cause rooflines to be offset. If this makes sense to anyone, please help.

Use floor heights and floors and ceiling heights to get the levels you want.
