Pools
Still new to chief and i cant work out how to make the water in pools-or any water in general, go see-through so you can see the bottom of a pool and the lights underneath the water. I have seen it in pictures made in chief but cant figure it out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pool tricks
Check our these threads:

These threads contain a method of making a pool out of a road. The water can be made from a slab or better still a piece of terrain which has been converted into a symbol object. When you use terrain you can generate, little hillocks to represent waves.
Tip: make a piece of terrain the same size and shape as your pool.copy this to your working plan, place it in the required position, now right click and convert to plain polyline. Right click again and convert to road(perimeter).
go back to your original piece of terrain, add some height modifiers, to get it wavy, take a camera view and export the DXF/DWG. Import this as a symbol to your working plan.
use the move object tool, with precise location selected to place the "water" on exactly the same place as the pool. adjust the curb of the pool to determine its depth, add materials, there is a water material in the library, you should give it some transparency till It looks right.Last edited by ARCHIJEF2000; 05-30-2006 at 05:45 AM.
