    trying to post an image

    Here goes again.

    http://users4.ev1.net/~tommybps/lake%20house.swf

This seems to be the only way I can get an image on here. None of the Chieftalk tools seem to work for me. How about anyone else. Chief, do we need specific instructions? I've been posting images here a long time without copy/paste from internet. This image is a bad example though because I would have to do it this way anyway but none of the image tools work for me.

Under edit options, do you have "show images " checked?
Still could be a problem. Even if it is checked, I find "regular attachments" do not show strait away, you get a link, which has to be clicked first. Third party links (photobuckets) do show immediately.

    Tommy--

Are you trying to post an image or a flash file? I'm guessing the insert image function only works for standard images such as .bmp or jpg, etc.

    Ben,

I know I posted a flash file which was a bad example. However, I couldn't post a jpeg. I'll try again.

I couldn't post an image either by attachment or by a link to personal website space. - Just noticed Tim's input. Maybe a 3rd party web address like Photobucket is required.

Thanks George, I'm pulling my hair out! I see where people have attached images since they changed this format. I've been frustated working on a roof tonight and now it seems I can't put a freakin image here without uploading to my web space and I have to copy/paste that as well. They have places for attaching images. I hope they're just not working or Chief should remove it or let us know something if there is a problem. Well, enough of this for now. Time to chill

    Well, Smiles are working!!!

Thanks Tim but that doesn't even work for me. It shows correct in text but doesn't show image unless I copy/paste. I'll try it again though.

Trying to post as Time mentioned.

Well, it worked this time. I guess Chief is making us insert pictures like you used to have to do it.

Testing image upload by attachment. - It did not work. - After finding the file via the browse step, I pressed the 'upload' button. But nothing showed up in my message. There must be a less than obvious step that I am missing. I could not find the 'insert' button shown as 'insert all' in Tim's animated GIF involving a couple of images. I was just trying to upload one image but several tries did not work.
