    Monolithic Interior Footing

How do you add a footing under a monolithic slab? When I create the foundation I get the exterior footings, but need some interior footings and don't know how to do it.

If you have load bearing walls on this slab, open the wall dbx, general tab, check foundation. Set the foundation from the foundation tab.

I did get a footing below an interior wall(using your suggestion Farrell), but I can't seem to get the footing to show up on the foundation floor view. Any suggestions for that?

Thanks Tommy and Bob, I hadn't thought about trying that.

If you used the slab tool to make your footing, click on the slab you made in plan view, be sure you have footing checked and set the depths. When you check footings, you'll see the footing in plan view. Also, when you click on the main slab tool, notice the child tools that come up. One will have a slab with footing.

Thanks Tommy, I got that to work. That's probably what I'll be using from now on. I'm still curious if it's possible to get the footing below a wall (that Farrell suggested) to show up in the foundation plan view when using a monolithic slab, but I guess it isn't possible.

The best I've been able to do is place walls on the main level, move down to the foundation level, use invisable wall sized to the width of the desired footing, and align with above.
