    Cabinet Will Not Change!!

The cabinet in the photo below is 26" wide. The customer wants two doors to match the upper cabinet doors.

What I have here is the cabinet will not change to two doors even though I have selected it to have two doors.

Anyone have an idea how to get the door to change??

    Appreciate the help.

    Paul,

Try to put another cabinet in the plan and change it to what you want. If it works, then delete the troubled one and put that one in its place.

    Roger that

    Paul,
I can confirm the same behaviour on my end. Set base cab width to 26" but won't do the double doors. Put double face on it, and could get two doors, but they would both hinge one side or the other, not as desired to match your uppers. Since this is duplicatible, it might be worth flying by the engineers at Chief.

    And it gets weirder

    Paul,
Next I pulled the errant cabinet out of the company of its brothers in the full bank of cabinets, and low and behold, it sprouted double doors. When I put it back where it belonged, poof! as if by magic, it reverted to a single door again. Too goofy.

I completed the job by putting two 13" cabinets in place of the 26" and setting the doors with opposing hinge sides. Does not look too bad and it will get me by.

ART I still would like to hear a reply on this problem.

    Thanks much,

    Paul,
Your work around is OK visually, but incorrect contextually, so you might want to make the notation in your cabinet schedule before you give to clients. Just a friendly reminder.

    Glad you got it going.

    Paul,

If I've drawn correctly, I used a filler base cabinet in the corner, 24 wide by 24" deep, and was able to get the dble doors.

    Would You Believe It?

Cliff, after reading your reply I checked to see what I had placed in the corner as a filler.

    I did use a 24 x 24 cabinet as did you.

Now when I started this plan I had to begin with the west wall, the one to the left, and had placed all the cabinets facing out.

When I read your reply I just turned that corner filler cabinet 90 degrees to face the direction of the problem cabinet --- the double doors of the problem cabinet cam back.

Although this is a fix, it did not help the adjacent cabinets in the west wall. Fix one problem cause another.

Anyway, I did get a clean shot for the client but still want to hear from ART on this problem.

Thanks Cliff, Tommy, Lew and Dan for the help,

Your cabinets look better! What kind of problems did it create on the west wall or could you post a picture?
