I took a three day Intermediate training session last August.
I feel having this book with this type of written information will add to my resource base.
Having the same or similar information taught by another instructor adds to the knowledge I have already.
He may show different ways to do the same thing or different things all together.
A written "how to" book of procedures is a good investment in my opinion.

    Greg:

Looking over the table of contents it looks like it has great possbilities. I'll know better when I can look the book over and see what teaching method it uses and how "deep" the content is.

I should get it within a week or so.

Just wanted to say hello and let you know that we're going to pay special attention to what people here have to say. Additionally, if you have any questions about the book itself, we'll be here to answer them. Our page for the book has a feedback section because we want to know what the users think and what they want to see.

    Thanks!

    Chief Architect v9.5 Textbook

I have Chief Architect 9.5. I'm interested in a textbook similar to the Chief Architect v10.0 textbook advertised in this post.

Do you have any Chief Architect v9.5 textbooks available for purchase?

there is a workbook by Nasman that has 10 lessons. There is a 9.5 version and a version for 10. It costs around $49, but it is aimed at beginners. I can recommend this book if you are a newbie.

The book mentioned here is 449 pages and is aimed at the Intermediate level for ver 10 and I do not know of anything like this for ver 9.5 and since it is an older version there probably never will be.

BTW: I would avoid the Chief workbook by Wallace, it is so simple it is not worth the time to bother with.

I just talked with Mike at Star Training. I think I am going to get this book and he is interested in what people would like to see in an advanced book through the feedback section of the website. So if you would like to see anything in particular for the book, I would start leaving suggestions there!

That is true! We are very interested in what people are really looking for in a Chief Architect book. Whether it be beginner, intermediate, advanced, or expert - drop us a line and let us know

Feel free to drop me a line with thoughts and suggestions.

Also, a big thank you to all who have already purchased a book!

I would suggest going back over the postings in this forum and the Yahoo Chief forum and review all the postings back to Jan 2003 when ver 9 came out and then for the major topics like roofs, stairs, terrain, cabinets,
foundations/framing/trusses etc. create examples that show click by click how to set the dbx's etc. to do some of the advanced features of these tools.

With lots of pics on a DVD so we can see how it all works, etc.
Break each topic down into small repeatable workshop style lesson plans. See the Nasman book for a methodology of presenting the material,
with the 10 lessons plans in his book.

I'd like to see a lesson plan for each topic discussed on the forums.
