    Two versions

Is any of you using both versions of CA?

Do you have the two locks plugged all the time?

Turn one program off and switch to the other?

How do you go about it?

    Thanks!

    Not at all!!

Most of the plans I have are version 9, but the question was more of a technical one.

I was concerned about conflicting between the two locks in the system.

I think it may work different for different computers, but on mine, I plug in the V9.5 key first, then the V10 key. You can run both at the same time, if you hold the control key down while clicking the desktop icon twice for the one you don't have running.

I have both locks plugged in all the time.

I can run two copies of 10.06 (hold down control key, click on CA icon the second time and you get a second copy). I can run two copies of 9.54 at once. I can run 10.06 and 9.54 at the same time. I've not tried running more than two of CA at any one time, thought if I didn't run out of RAM I might be able to run more, though I don't see the need for it.

I did it quite a while ago so my memory is foggy on how I had to set it up. I think I had to plug in the V9 key first, let it find CA version 9. Then I plugged in the V10 key - it can go in any socket.

There was a thread on this a few months ago when V10 came out. I also seem to remember that if CA9 didn't work, you could swap the 9 and 10 keys in the USB ports and it would work. I may have had to do that.

    Wonderful!!

I had tried to open version 9 but it did not recog. the lock!

I restarted the system and I'm able to open version 9 back!

I tried opening V10 and got the error message (can not run two sessions at the same time).

After your reply, I follow your suggestion and boom!! holding the Ctrl key did it, I have the two version running simultaneously!!

Not that I want to do it but just in case a customer pops in and wants to see something in either version while I'm working.

    Great thank you!!
