    User Tip 21

In Chief 10 the ability to adjust the origin of materials really helps with making materials look right. An example is this brick sill.

louis how do you change the height of the sill & lintel? I have looked and I am unable to find how to change it. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    thanks

Yes I can see the brick when I create an elevation section but I need to make the lintel 7 1/4" tall and make the sill 3 5/8" tall. However I am unable to figure out how to do this using the sill and lintel buttons in the window dbx dialog.

    thanks,

David, if this answers your question: If you want to use customized moldings for various parts of casing, you must first set the "normal" casing values to *zero* and then the molding sizes will work. Otherwise, the casing dimensions set in the DBX will override the window moldings. If you do a search there should be a more specific thread about it here, I have found it some time ago.

One thing that is not-so-nice in CA is that the molding parameters cannot be changed globally. So I always double-check if I had set all the materials and sizes right before I place multiple windows. Otherwise I must edit them one by one or in groups if their placement allows that.
