Layout Dim. size in CAD detail
I need to know how to turn on a layout page size when adding items to a CAD Detail? or maybe better phrased..... Is there way to turn on(?) a layout page dimension in Cad Detail? So a person can see how many details you can add that will fit in that sheet or if you need to resize them to make more fit.

Randy,
Would this be the same as opening "Full Sheet" while in CAD Detail (Alt-F3)?Cliff

Hi Cliff,
I don't think so I have a 'Show sheet' and it highlights a large section but larger then my layout sheet size, I.E. when I send to layout I can also show sheet and it shows larger than the layout?Randy

Randy,
Someone who does a lot of printing will have to chip in here. Under Page Setup in the Printer section, my Drawing Sheet is set up to print that size and I have "Show Drawing Sheet" checked. My Layout Sheet and Drawing sheet match, but I've not done much printing, so best wait 'till you've got a good answer.Cliff

Cliff,
Okay, but maybe I should clarify for others reading than, when you have a CAD detail open, can't you have CA show you a layout border so you can size your cad blocks accordingly? rather than send to layout and see you had plenty of room to add more or note enough room.Randy

Randy,
Here's an image of what I was talking about, but may not be what you're asking for. I print at Arch D-24"x36" at 1/4" scale. This is the way my Show Sheet looks in CAD Detail and looks the same when sent to Layout.Cliff

Cliff,
Okay, I fiqured it out, when you select show sheet it is larger than actual view and you must zoom out and then you can add cad items. I had add my items to the cad detail page and then selected show sheet it was actual in the gray. Thanks!Randy
