switches
I am finding that I am using the refrigerator type switches for pantries and closets. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to show the switch on the door jamb?

Select the switch, and click the "open symbol" icon. The icon that looks like a pencil with a chef's hat.
Then go to options and instead of "Wall Mounted", choose either floor, ceiling or cabinet mounted, then adjust the height off floor number back to 48, or whatever height you desire. Then the symbol will be floating, and you can place it where ever you like.

if you just want to show a regular switch there ...
a switch with attributes as Ben describes already exists in the library...electrical>switches>cabinet mounted
