Small Wood Landing
Greetings all,
I have a continual need for a standard 42" deep x 66"wide or 96" wide small deck used as a landing on many of the modular homes I draw daily. Usually there is a 3' wide stepdown with no handrail or a single side handrail. It seems I've got to CAD more CA in all kinds of ways to make the deck tool generate anything close, and with that getting the sonotubes visible in both elevations and foundation plan has been a challenge. Ideally I'd make a cad block or symbol that just sat in my library cooing and ready to snuggle right outside those entry doors.
Suggestions??? What is the best way to create this mini deck with no handrails.
thanks for your help

Create a deck with no house in a blank plan. Take a 3D camera shot and export as 3D DXF. Then use the create symbol tool and import the DXF you just exported, and add the symbol to the library.

It seems there is a problem using a deck as a landing if you use multiple wall coverings - say 1/2 of wall = brick and 1/2 = siding.
Using a polyline and converting to a stair landing seems to work better.
