Dormer Gable Wall Being Cut Off

    Hey,

Seems like I'm always having problems with the dormers! I'm using version 9.54 and my dormer gable walls keep getting cut off no matter which settings I check in the roof dialog box. I'm sure there's a quick fix. Thanks for the help in advance!

Add a few breaks in your roof edge and edit the plane. A roof hole works too, but I’m guessing you want the deck to drain.

    Thanks for the reply.
How exactly do you do that? I have a break on the south exterior wall, but where would I put the others?

Do the breaks in the roof plane...When you select the roof plane look at your toolbar for the break symbol, looks like a lightning bolt, break the roof plane where you can move it out of the dormers way...if you don't have the desired deck, make a soffit or polyline solid, change material to wood grain or whatever and raise it to the desired level to cover up any unwanted cosmetic features. If you continue to need framing you may need to manualy build such. You may need to build a second roof section to add the overhang to the existing roof. hope this helps!!!!
