    Circular Room w/circular opening

I've been having a heck of a time getting a circular opening in a circular room to show. The opening has a railing. The circular room doesn't want to show the opening. It wants either to have a ceiling or not have a ceiling. It won't let me have only the circular opening show as "open." ....and on the next floor, I can select and designate the opening as "Open Below," but the room around it will not recognize the round railed opening.
Is this a common problem, or is it me?

I don't think it's a common problem, as circular rooms are not common.

Are you sure the round railed opening is closed? Is there an interior wall path (visible or not) to an exterior wall?

You could try a platform hole (ceiling).

sounds like something you're doing in the plan..without seeing it, only guesses, and I am not inclined to guess

Gosh, that worked great, except how do you "find" the hole on the floor above. In my plan, it didn't show up (in plan) on the floor above, although it does show in perspective and render.

    Louis,
How did you do it? The platform hole worked, but I'd like to know how you did it.
    Thanks,

When I just re-opened the plan, the hole went away. The CAD line is still there, but the hole is no longer. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

You need to connect the rail/wall for the hole to a exterior wall with a rail or wall. The connecting wall/rail can be invisible.

You cannot have an island room.

Just curious, does anyone know what this is necessary ?
    It's sort of non-intuitive
