    There are several ways to display elevations/cross sections. Generally you would want to set framing to show in 3-D, build framing, create a cross section using the cross section camera tool, then use the auto-detail tool. How the created view then shows on layout, once sent there can be finely controlled by you once there by use of the edge handles of the view adjusting how much of the view then shows. All the dynamics of what and how are difficult to describe with just words here but do read the "Help", "Manual" and "User Guide" data on this topic, view your video tutorials and you will arrive I am sure.
