"EXIT" sign problems *SOLVED*
I've already searched, but couldn't come up with an answer, so if someone wants to give it a shot...
When trying to put an "EXIT" sign on the ceiling, near a door, the sign snaps to the wall.
Is this a Chief thing or an operator problem?
PS. this problem is being experienced by someone in our office, so I haven't really played with it.
I'm thinking, there could be different sign options or something.Last edited by Tico; 09-14-2005 at 07:14 AM.

The default for the exit lights is to be wall mounted, so get it close and it will snap. This also means that you cannot place one over a door, just beside it. One way to "fix" it is to open the symbol/options tab/ change from wall mounted to ceiling mounted. Move symbol next to wall and it won't snap. You can also drop it down from the ceiling to still give the appearance of a wall mounted fixture.

well, I'll try that, but I don't want a wall mounted exit sign, it needs to be ceiling mounted, close to the exit, but not on the wall.

Open the symbol and change it to floor mount or sits on floor.
You can then position it wherever you want and at whatever height.
You can also make it a ceiling mount with an offset from the ceiling.Dennis Gavin CR, CKBR
