    Glass Sinks

    Hello Chieftains,

I'm trying to finish a small rendering of a powder room. I have a few questions I'd appreciate your responses:

    1) Anyone know where I can find 3d symbols of a rectangular glass bath room sink? Or how to build one in Cheif 10.05a or Setch-Up?

    2) How do I get the glass to look more realistic in final view render? And how do I get the mirror to look

    3) I used a polyline solid to creat a small flourescent stipr behind a wavy glass fixture which was made in the same way, how do I make this strip luminous?

    Thanx for your time.

    Jay

For glass to look more realistic it needs to reflect, which is something only POV-ray can do. The simplest and fastest POV-ray is a screen-size no-radiosity rendering (looks like a final view but with reflections and such).

Thanx for the reply. That works fine enough.

Anyone else on the other issues?

    Hi Jay.

Do you have a picture of the sink you want to have. Without a picture it's hard to say if it's a pieces of cake to make or if you need to use a other program than Chief.

If I get a picture I can fix it for you.

Bright up the day for all, smile and be happy.

    God bless the free world.

God bless the not-so-free world too, so they can become free.

Don't know how to put everything in the same reply....

Those lights on the side of the mirror were made with a polyline in elevation/section. I also made a 1" dia. strip behind them. That is what I want illumniated in this room and nothing else. How do i do this?

When you make up the symbol for the light asign material for the light to be a lighting material and pick the color your want. Also in the symbol creator you need to check that it is a light. I hope this is what you are asking.

I would use a molding polyline to make the sink.
