Layers not turning off in Layout

I have a CAD detail that was sent to layout and cannot get the stairs to disappear. They were not showing in the CAD detail before being sent to layout.
I tried selecting the view in layout and shutting off that layer but it is still there. I also cannot select it to delete it. The layer is not locked.

Nevermind....
I realized that this was answered before.
You have to go back to the CAD detail and shut off Main and reference layer. It's working now. I had a reference layer on. I thought I had shut it of but...

Would be nice to control layers from layout. Should be the normal condition. I assume this is a bug or has been overlooked.

Another thing I realized last night is that you need to shut down Chief occasionally when it starts to act real strange. Fire it back up and things get back to normal.
