basement wall/ceiling gap
My foundation has a gap between the walls and the basemen ceiling. Has anyone else run into this problem? Below is a snapshot of the problem.

You might want to check to see that your walls are lined up. Then rebuild wall, floors, ceilings.......

Figured it out, thanks. For some reason, the mudsill height produces the gap. Maybe someone can answer this question for me. What is mudsill, and why does it produce this unsightly gap?

The mudsill is the 2x lumber that sits atop the foundation. Here in New England we use a pressure-treated 2x6 sitting on the sill and a kiln-dried 2x6 (often called a "white sill") on top of the 2x6pt.Steve Miller
