Best Way To Backup Details and Such

It just occured to me that my systme ever crashed, I have all my drawing files backed up, but all of the details, textures, settings, etc that I have either created or setup in the manner I want would be lost.

What is the best way to back these things up?

I use an external hard dirve on a usb port, then take all the files and put it on my other machine, then if I leave I either take the drive with me or hide it in the garage..

    skoz5...

if your back up is automated, just set it up to also back up all of your chief files...I back up all chief files automatically on a daily basis....also my plan files, my documents, financial, etc...if space isn't an issue back everything up...

Backup to CD or DVD and place a copy on-site and another off-site (in case of fire or theft).

Your backup policy should be your pain threshold.
How much pain will I be in if I lose ...
