Footing dimensions
Is there a way to get dimensions displayed based on the footings for the foundation. As we are trying to build the forms for the footings, we realize that the dimensions that we have based on the walls are giving us a lot of difficulty as we try to lay it out.
It would be perfect if I had footing dimesions only.

You can go to floor 0 on your plan and dimension your footing there, however the automatic tool does exterior dimensions, if you need more exact dimension you have to do those manually, and may even have to use cad lines as references.

Just use cad reference lines as you would in the field & then dimension the cad lines. Most of our footings in the northeast are 24" wide. They don't have to be that wide, but most concrete form guys use 2x12 forms for the depth and 24" on the width.

Click on the outside of your foundation wall, Select "make room polyline", go to edit, preferences, cad, edit type, select concentric, set to the dimension from your fnd. wall to the outside edge of the footing, click OK. In plan view, select the p-line, click copy, grab a handle on a corner and pull out until it jumps to the first position. Select this p-line, open it, go to "Line Style" select "show length". Hope this helps.
