    wide vs. square:

    Personally, I just want screen space! My laptop is a 17" wide screen because that's the biggest thing I could get my hands on. For a desktop, I would get the standard format if it was just as big, because it's closer to the width-height ratio of standard draying sheets.

    My desktop monitor is 21", and now I'm drooling over that 24" mama!

    For me screen space matters a lot because I do design in front of people, and it helps them see. I use Print Image to make them a PDF of all the design options as we go. For the standard monitor, I send it to 8 1/2" x 11, for the wide screen I send it to 8 1/2" x 14".
